Polk County Attorney’s Office Delinquent Court Debt Collections

The Polk County Attorney's Office (Iowa) offers payment plans to assist you in payment of delinquent court debt. Participation in a payment plan with the County Attorney's Office may allow you to obtain your driver's license, satisfy condition of Probation/Parole or release the hold on your vehicle registration. We offer two (2) different types of payment plans.

1. Driver's License Reinstatement Program (LRP)

If the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) has suspended your driver's license or your Driver’s License may be suspended in the near future, you may qualify for the Driver's License Reinstatement Program (LRP) through our office. To start the process you will need to apply online below. If all you are seeking is a Temporary Restricted License (TRL) commonly known as a “work permit” you need to contact the DOT at 1-800-532-1121.

2. Payment Plan

If your case(s) have become delinquent (more than 30 days since disposition date), you may be eligible to set up a payment plan. This plan is often used to satisfy probation/parole requirements and help with vehicle registration holds. This plan will NOT help you obtain a valid Iowa Driver’s License, or prevent your driver's license from being suspended. To start the process complete the payment plan application below.

Note: You can only be on one payment plan at a time. Please only apply for one payment plan.
